Mangal Font Typing

Mangal is a Unicode Devanagari font developed by Microsoft. Unlike Kruti Dev (which stores text as ASCII and requires the font to display it as Hindi), Mangal text is stored as actual Unicode Devanagari characters. This means the text works on any device and software without needing the Mangal font installed.

This tool provides a typing area with a virtual Devanagari Inscript keyboard. The keyboard inserts Unicode Hindi characters directly into the textarea as you type. There is no time limit — type freely for practice or document creation.

The Devanagari Inscript keyboard layout is the official standard for Unicode Hindi typing, developed by the Government of India's Department of Electronics. It maps keyboard keys to specific Devanagari Unicode characters.

In Devanagari Inscript, each Hindi word is built character by character: consonants, then vowel signs (matras), then combining marks in sequence.

Example: योजना is typed as: य + ो + ज + न + ा

Example: प्र is typed as: प + ् + र (the virama ् joins consonants)
